Brendon nor Brant are that thrilled. And really, if Daniel's going to be honest, neither is he. But he's the senior, and has to act cool and calm. Even so, it's with a certain level of guilt that he peeks over from his position in the haunted house at the boys as they stand around, waiting to help with the gift bags. They originally were going to work with Daniel, dress up as zombies and ghosts, scare people with their long-practiced moans and cries for relief, but now...
"I can't believe this," Brendon huffs, keeping his voice low enough that his twin can hear, but no one else. "We finally get assigned to a school project that seems like fun and it gets thrown away with absolutely no warning!"
"Well, we did think Daniel had Silas beat in that race," Brant sighs, trying to keep calm, logical about it all. "It's not Daniel's fault. Not entirely. We did agree to the terms..."
"I know, it still sucked. I wanted to scare people, not give them gifts after they went through." He grimaces and hands over another gift bag to a couple of freaked out girls. His only relief is that they're finally nearing the end of when it'll be open, then he and his twin can go home, watch some scary movies and steal some candy while pretending to pass it out to trick or treaters.
Teachers are bustling around, closing up, when a mummy comes out of nowhere and wraps his arms around both twins' shoulders. Brant jumps but Brendon merely stares at Daniels's grinning face. "Aw come on, boys, don't be like that! It's the best holiday of the year!" He squeezes both of their shoulders and then leans in. "Come with me." He drags them along to the front of the building, ignoring their protests and fussing about getting in trouble with the teachers for bailing on their posts early. "We have one last group of people waiting to go through. I had them hold them specially for this..."
The twins are confused and stand very still as Daniel and a Zombie, who they realize later on is Shima, goes to work on them quickly and once they're done and look at each other, they fall speechless. Brendon is done up as a werewolf, and Brant is a zombie, and they look pretty damn good for a five minute rush job! Daniel laughs at the looks on their faces before dragging them into the house. "Go for it, boys."
The group of teenagers walk through the house, scoffing at most of the scares... until they come upon where Brant and Brendon are standing on either side of the path.
Daniel waits at the end with the gift bags until screams and cries to get away come from the crowd htey'd just let in. "That's my boys," he says with a proud grin.
