As the CEO of a technology business, Nathan is all too aware of how easily it can fall. One wrong line of coding, a failing source of energy and it can all crash. Which is what happens this day. One minute things seem fine, the next it's down. He listens to the alarms, making his way through the madhouse of people racing around, trying to fix it while answering the ridiculous amounts of calls from people complaining about the lack of service.
It ends up being a little of column of A and a little of column of B, Nathan overseeing the fixes personally to make sure that things get done quickly. Once everything is implemented and customers are appeased, most of the calls stopping, he's turning to find something else to put his focus on when he bumps into someone. "Oh, sorry," he exclaims, steadying the young man before he could fall to the floor. "Evan, right?"
The intern gapes at him, surprised at being remembered. "Oh, ye-- yes, sir. Sorry I didn't see you there." He looks at the cluster of people just now starting to go back to their own workstations. "Busy morning, sir?"
"I've seen worse," Nathan comments, smirking as he looks over the normalizing bustle. "So," he says, glad that it's calmer now and he can hear himself think. "Have you had a break yet today?"
Evan shakes his head. "No, why?"
Nathan's smirk softens. "I was thinking about lunch. What do you say?"
"Lu-- lunch?" He gapes at Nathan. "You mean, together?"
"Yeah." Nathan hesitates, doubt crossing his face for the first time since Evan met him. "Unless you have a thing against being seen with your boss in public."
"N-- no, of course not," Evan sputters. "Sure, I'd like to go to lunch. Thank you." He starts to feel subconscious, peering down at his clothes. "Are these... ok?"
Nathan smirks. "They're fine. Don't worry. I have to finish a couple things, meet you here in five?"
"Ok," Evan says weakly, watching him walk off, once more the very definition of self-confidence and ease.
