Aya's journey takes her to New York. Not the city, definitely not, but the country side. She enjoys it well enough, although she misses home every day.
When she feels wistful enough for something familiar, she goes to the Hudson River Park and stares out across the pier, hugging herself. It's beautiful and makes the trip worth it every time, even though she can still hear the rustle of city life behind her, which is what she'd wanted to avoid in her previous home. But the job opportunities had been ripe here, and that mixed with the gorgeous country side had called to her when she was choosing where to move to when the time came to finally leave.
There's enough variety in America that she thinks she'll be ok, able to find peace no matter where she goes, but it does get lonely sometimes. Even so, she doesn't regret her decision, peering out across the crystal blue water once more before turning slowly and leaving for her new home that she had picked purposely because it was down the road from a horse farm.
As city turns into country, she smiles, all of the stress leaving her thanks to the change. It really is beautiful, she thinks, staring out of the window.
